Today Ari and I woke up super early to go support her brother… well, let me re- phrase that, we broke night and started to get ready to go support her brother.
Alex was running the Brooklyn Half Marathon today with his best friend George by his side. They started the run from the Brooklyn Museum close to Prospect Park and ended up in Coney Island… that’s 13 miles!
I for one, was very impressed, knowing myself I would’ve fainted by the third block! We waited to capture that moment once he arrived at the finish line, and I felt so bad, bendito, he was limping because of the pain on his left knee. Hey, he did his damn thing!
Look at him so proud!
After the guys soaked up all the fame and paparazzi, with their new medals! We decided to stick around Coney Island and enjoy the beautiful day. Check out the guys above, entertainment with jugglers, men on stilts and a chick on a unicycle =]
The sun today was beaming without a doubt, Ari and I ended up slowly stripping throughout the day.
The boardwalk was filled marathon runners and their loved ones… We joined in on all the commotion grabbed some grub, and headed to The Freak Show .
Yes, The Freak Show, we got to see some quirky special talent, from a lady dancing with a huge snake, a guy hammering a nail up his nose, fire twirling, a burlesque flexible girl being put in a box and having 15 saws inserted in the box,a guy picking up an anchor with his eyes, starting fire from the tip of someone’s tongue just from sitting on an electric chair, and a guy laying on a bed of sharp nails while having an anvil on top of him.
It was definitely a good show, and to finish this event off we topped it off with some special Coney Island beer.
Until next time….
