Of course I always have a blast when I travel to Connecticut to visit my hood family.
My sister Jen , Mr.T and I packed up the kids and headed to Dad’s ( Ar’s Dad ) pool and we were ready to soak up the sun.

As many times as Jen reminded me to pack a swimsuit, I of course, didn’t. Jen was a doll and let me borrow one of the many she doesn’t even use. I picked one that was a Puerto Rican flag on the top an bottom.
She kept picking on me an laughing saying that I was a fake Boricua. ( I’m Dominican and Ecuadorian )
Jesus and Baby made us some food to grub on while we went crazy in the pool making whirlpools.
I swear, I ate so many hotdogs!
I was not complaining though…. I blasted some Salsa while we all played to get everyone hyper.
It worked.

Angie, Jen and I headed to Stamford to go pick up Jen’s engagement ring and wedding bands that needed to be re-sized. Since they weren’t ready yet and we had about 4 hours to kill, we roamed the streets for a while, and admired the many statues.
Each year Stamford hosts a distinguished outdoor sculpture exhibit designed to attract both local and regional audiences. Working with more than 200 artists. The submissions are hand picked and by a jury and then painted live ( if chosen ) and is displayed for the whole summer. After that time is done, the horses ( or whatever object they have picked, one year it was cows ) are then auctioned with the proceeds going to a charity.
Though I only captured pictures of a few horses, I had to share with you guys. These pictures definitely don’t do enough justice. I hope you guys go see them for yourself before they are auctioned off in August.
There was so many different concepts, from a city view with wings ( above ) , the inside of a clock, midnight sky ( below )
This gold horse seemed so plain from far, especially to me since I’m so blind! Once you get a little closer though. you see texture. This horse had spray painted bottle caps, cable wires and security badges!
Then there was this Bronzed out one that was split in half, giving the illusion of book ends…. wish they would’ve added some fake books in between!
I would definitely be signing up for this next summer.
After exploring the city for a while we ended up going thrift shopping, which I looooove! I got so many good finds, including a nice leather teal plaid messenger bag that I only got for ten bucks. Once I got back home, AR noticed that it was Polo Ralph Lauren, which I failed to notice.
We decided to look it up online to retrieve an actual price and it’s worth $450 !
Yeah, I got really lucky on that one ♥
I also ended up getting my niece Jolie a little tiny dress that I can’t wait to see her wear for the Fourth of July
